Through the courtesy of J. L. Hosick, merchant of Elizabethtown, I have access to an Illinois Atlas published in 1876, the centennial year of American Independence. It was purchased about that time by Mr. Hosick's grandfather, Joseh T Hosick. This directory ought to pass as history with interest to the decendants and other relatives of these early business men of our county. Below I am giving their names, their business, their native homes, and the dates of their settlements in our county. -- Chairman.
